I had a tough day. Mentally exhausting. A take a bubble bath and curl up in bed kind of day. Shut out the world. Have a good cry. Continue reading

Taking a break from running because of my mental struggle with breathing is over. My breathing issues are not over, but my mental struggle has been squashed. Being one of the slower runners on an elite team of athletes is something to be proud of. Continue reading
My amazing coach and race director extraordinaire puts on a wintry 5K every December called the Red Nosed Run.
Sponsored by Reno Running Company, this 3 loop 5K is cold, icy, snowy and full of energy. Will sponsors Girls On The Run and two buses full of little girls unloaded. I volunteer for this race – usually running the aid station – and I love the energy. This year 3 of my kids decided to run and the rest of the family was volunteering. Race morning showed 1* temperatures so I let the kiddos beg out of volunteering and make the decision to run or not. Run or not?? Run. Of course. My kids are awesome!
The weather was so cold, the aid station was shut down so I took up my post at one of the corners and spent 2 hours in 4* cheering everyone on (Yup. Warmed up!). The great thing about running 3 loops is that I saw everyone 3 times. The weather may have been brutal but the attitude was anything but. Hot chocolate bar, lots of food, face painting, hair braiding and spraying made for a fantastic event.
